Much of our relationship with animals has been constructed through the camera, both still and moving. And the road is a potent symbol in much American art but whereas it is generally used to symbolise freedom and opportunity I use it to take a more dystopian view. It is not without significance that ‘The Wizard of Oz’ was released in 1939, at the end of the Great Depression and the beginning of World War II.
Since the mid 1980s his work has been shown nationally and internationally and has been reviewed in a number of journals including ‘Art Monthly’, ‘Creative Camera’ and ‘The Big Issue’. His work is held in several private and public collections including the University of Southern California and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
